Seyfert galaxies (Sy) belong to the class of galaxies with active nuclei. The main feature of active galactic nuclei (AGN) is the dominant role of their central region, which emits significantly more energy compared to the host galaxy. The primary source of this energy is the process of accretion of matter to a supermassive Black Hole (SMBH). The source of ionization of the emitting gas is continuum radiation in the spectrum of an accretion disk. Information on the variability of the continuum and emission-line fluxes, including their broad components, is used to determine the size, structure, and location of emission line formation regions, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of physical processes occurring in the vicinity of AGN. These data play a crucial role in the development of AGN models. In turn, the analysis of the variability of fluxes in broad components of emission lines can be used as a tool for studying dynamic processes occurring in the vicinity of Sy nuclear. This tool can be very effective, given the relatively high (compared to another subclass of AGN – quasars) apparent brightness of the Sy, which makes it possible to study these objects using observations obtained on telescopes of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute (FAI). To detect long-period changes in Sy, it is planned to use Sy spectrograms obtained in the FAI. The information contained in the spectrograms is unique. The spectra of many galaxies from the Markarian lists were first obtained in the FAI. If necessary, additional observations of the Sy with broad lines of emission will be obtained using the upgraded 1.5-meter class telescope of the Assy-Turgen Observatory, equipped with modern high-sensitivity equipment.

In general, the study of several dozen poorly studied Sy over a long (about 50 years) time interval significantly increases the probability of discovering new phenomena and effects in the central regions of Sy and significantly replenishes the database of Seyfert galaxies.

Potential consumers: the results of the project can be applied to the research of AGN in the framework of other Kazakhstan and international projects. The data obtained can be used by undergraduates and Ph.D. students of higher educational institutions, employees of research centers in related research fields, as well as observatories of the International Astronomical Union.
