Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor. Saken Obashevich Obashev was born December 13, 1931 in the village of Kul Bashek Temir district of Aktobe region. From 1939 to 1949 he studied at the Kenkiyak seven years of secondary school and Temir Aktobe region.
In 1949, he enrolled at the Almaty State Pedagogical Institute. Abaya on Physics and Mathematics. In 1953 he graduated with a degree: “Physics and Mathematics.”
All of the scientific-organizational and employment of SO Obasheva inextricably linked with the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and, in particular, of the Astrophysical Institute. V.G.Fesenkova. Here for 48 years, he has gone from a research assistant to professor, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 1953, SO Obashev was adopted in the Astrophysical Institute for the post of junior research fellow, where he began his scientific career under the guidance of Academician VG Fesenkov, then a graduate student at the Crimean Astronomical Observatory under the leadership of AB North.
In 1963, after defending his doctoral dissertation SO Obashev headed the department at the Institute of Physics of the Sun, where, under his direction, basic research on a wide range of problems of solar physics.
He took an active part in the organization of the coronal base station, and an expedition to monitor the total solar eclipse of June 30, 1954 by order of the Presidium of the Kazakh SSR S.O.Obashev was transferred to the acting head of the coronal station of the Astrophysical Institute in 1963
In 1966 he was elected to head the coronal station of the Astrophysical Institute. For active research and public activities and fruitful leadership coronal station in 1967, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR SO Obashevu allowed scientific management graduate (as an exception).
At the initiative of academician of the USSR V.G.Fesenkova in 1966 began construction of Highland Peak Solar Observatory Alma-Ata at 3000 meters above sea level in the area of the Big Almaty Lake. In this regard, the organization of the construction and equipping of a future observatory modern solar telescopes was done SO Obashevym. In addition, they had constructed a specialized telescope original design for the study of sunspots with high spatial resolution. This telescope was Obashevich Saken’s certificate.
Since 1968. at Highland Solar Observatory with monitoring all layers of the solar atmosphere with high spatial and spectral resolution.
In 1968, SO Obashev spent most of the preparatory work for the observation of a total solar eclipse, and under his leadership, the observations were carried out successfully in Kazakhstan. The results of the expedition Obashev SO reported to the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.
SO Obashev much strength and energy to the development of research on the physics of the Sun and creating employable research group, is considered to be a true founder of scientific activity Solar Observatory. Some of the results of scientific work entered the reference fund of world science and in a monograph on the physics of solar domestic and foreign authors.
Under his direction prepared five candidates who are actively working in the field of solar physics and astrophysics. In 1966, SO Obashev was a scientific mission in the Astronomical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, where he got acquainted with the work of solar observatories and Ondrzheyov Skalnate Plessis.
In 1967, SO Obashev participated in a symposium on the solar corona in France and visited the Solar Observatory Pic du Midi and Meudon. SO Obashev member of the International Astronomical Union and the Commission to study the sun Astronomical Council and the Council of the Sun-Earth system.
In 1995, SO Obashev thesis at the Institute of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the ionosphere for the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences on the theme: “Research spots and their manifestations in the solar atmosphere” specialty “Astrophysics”.
SO Obashevym published about 80 scientific papers, one monograph (co-author), “Physics of the coronal structures” (1979), scientific and popular pamphlet in the Kazakh language of astronomy, which he edited was issued three thematic collection under the title “Solar Activity.”
SO Obashev actively participated in the commission of the Kazakh Soviet Encyclopedia, taught a course on Astronomy in Kazakh Pedagogical Institute.
Received an inventor’s certificate telescope fotogeliografa that allows high-quality pictures.
Scientific, educational and organizational activities of SO Obasheva repeatedly marked of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. He was awarded the medal “Veteran of Labor.”
SO Obasheva feature high competence and rigor, combined with good human qualities, it has earned him the respect of the staff.
