On the eve of the national holiday, the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for significant achievements in the development of science, Chingis Tukenovich Omarov, director of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, was awarded the Order of “Kurmet”. This high award is recognition of the enormous contribution of Chingis Omarov to the development of astrophysical science. He followed in the footsteps of his father, an outstanding world-famous astrophysicist Tuken Omarov, devoting his career to astrophysics and scientific activities. Under the leadership of Prof. Ch. Omarov, the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute has achieved significant results, contributing to the increase in the international authority of science in Kazakhstan. Currently, the institute has created the basis for a national space awareness system for monitoring near-Earth space, and is developing an observation base for this system. International cooperation is developing with scientific organizations from both near and far abroad, including the USA, Japan, Korea, Russia, China, Europe, etc.
