A considerable update of the FAPHI computer cluster

Recently, the FAPHI computer cluster was considerably updated within the framework of the grant project AP08052312 "Numerical study of the mechanism of formation of spiral arms in disk galaxies" from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-22. The cluster was expanded with three new SuperMicro 7049GP-TRT high-performance servers.
12th KCK-2020 Meeting on Stellar Dynamics will be held in Kazakhstan

The 12th Kazakhstan-China-Korea Meeting on Stellar Dynamics and related fields (KCK-2020) will be hosted this year by the Energetic Cosmos Laboratory of Nazarbayev University (Nur-Sultan city), during October 26-30, 2020. The workshop title includes only three countries; nonetheless, participants from any country are welcomed. [workshop postponed]
Annular solar eclipse of December 26, 2019

There was information in some local mass media that the solar eclipse of December 26, 2019 will be observed in Almaty at 11:18 a.m. In fact, however, the peak of the eclipse will occur almost an hour earlier, at 10:12, while by the mentioned time it will be over. The maximum disk coverage will reach 27%.
