In our country, the leading scientific organization engaged in the study of the Universe is the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute. A correspondent of the Kazinform agency got acquainted with the activities of this institute.

The FAI computing cluster received another major upgrade in 2024. As part of grant and program-targeted funding, 10 NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics cards in dual-slot configurations were purchased, enabling their installation in a single server and achieving a performance of 826 teraflops.

On the eve of the national holiday, the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for significant achievements in the development of science, Omarov Chingis Tukenovich, director of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, was awarded the Order of "Kurmet".

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Fesenokov Astrophysical Institute and the French company ArianeGroup for the study of near and deep space objects.

The FAI computing cluster received another significant update as part of grant and program-targeted funding. The cluster was supplemented with a new computing server, data storage systems and additional battery modules.
